set the ISO to 100, or the lowest it will go, put the camera in Av mode, set it to F8-ish, set the camera on a solid object facing the subject, used the self timer function, pressed the shutter button, stepped back and let the camera take the shot after the timer has expired. That way there is no motion shake from you toucing the camera while the shutter is open for the several seconds or more it will take for the correct exposure, and you won't have all the noise in the image.
